Guild Wars Collectible Figures
The thought of having Guild Wars related figures has been on my mind for ages but only get stirred anew recently by my purchase of the DC Direct World Of Warcraft series figures (which are quite nice by the way ) makes me wonder if Arena Net (or some toy company) should produce something similar (i.e. detail figure based on Heroes/important character such as Koss, Zenmai, Varesh, Shiro...etc or maybe monster figure such as Kuunavang, Lich, Shirokens...etc). Something like what DC has done with Wow or maybe Mcfarlane style figures. I have also heard rumours of a female Dervish figure being made which till date have not shown up . What do you guys think ?
*Sorry guys...initially wanted to add a poll but can't seem to find that option when I'm posting. It goes something like this :
Should Guild Wars Collectible Figures be made ?
a. Yes they should.
b. Yes but wait until GW2 is out so there are more options/designs.
c. No, I don't collect figures and it's a waste of money.
(Moderator if possible please help me add this poll to the thread...thanks)

I think it's a bit late for Guild Wars but would definitely be a plus for Guild Wars 2.

ACTUALLY, there was something about this I had been meaning to post on...
Last month I was looking through an African Art catalog that you can order pieces from. Well, I dont have the catalog anymore, but there was a figurine that looked EXACTLY like the male paragon we see on the Nightfall posters and in the exact same position.
Did anet take its' ideas directly from this piece of art or was a piece of African art influenced by Nightfall? O.o
(now that Ive actually gotten around to posting this finding, Ill have to see if i can find the piece online)
And btw, I wanted to buy the piece, just cause it reminded me of guildwars LOL

Always thought Guild Wars to be less geeky than, lets say, Wow.
I was proven horribly wrong by this thread.
I mean, wth do you want with a figure?
Stare at it while you are not playing?

Why not? We already have t-shirts, ipod masks and posters. What is so wrong with figurines?

I think that's stupid. Are you thinking the Developers and Programers would be the ones making these toys? I think they would contract another company to make them, the PROGRAMERS are concentrated on GW2 which is why we dont want them concentrating on in game stuff, figures wouldn't be related to that at all.

I have a bunch of the mcfarlane dragons, they are pretty cool. Why not have GW figures, it's a good way for them to make more money. More money=more money spent on GW=more content.

/signed, figs are cool.
I think its funny how people use the whole " don't waste anets resources, let them concentrate on GW2. Like anet is a second rate company with 4 employees, when they do something for GW1 the progress to GW2 grinds to a halt.
I don't think thats true at all, They would have a section of employees who work on gw2 non stop and have nothing to do with gw1, and a second for gw1 that has nothing to do with gw2.
Unless I'm wrong and Anet/ncsoft really is a second rate company.
I also love all the fanboys and fangirls who come to the companies defense as if we were attacking a loved one. Pathetic.
Anet needs to get off their lazy asses and fix the problems with gw1 before they try to say gw2 will be any better. Cause its starting to sound like Wotc, We wont fix whats broken, we will just make a new game, and force you all to buy it! BS! FIX GW1 anet, cause we have no reason to believe gw2 will be any better! Look at their track record for god sakes. If you suck once, chances are you will suck again!
I bet 1 thousand LOL's that this post will be deleted.
PS: I would love some GW figs. I'v got my spawn and predator collection along with some other old and rare action figs, Addings the gw professions and gods would be a nice addition.

/signed because leeds said /notsigned
Its not like making figures would take dev attention away from the game, I could actually see this happening in the future.

/signed for figures of nice, high quality (I do not like the look of the WoW ones, then again I've seen good hand-painted anime figures)
/notsigned for the heroes. I'd prefer notable figures from the history - the recorded history, not the 'now' history - of Guild Wars. Maybe the Gods as well: Dhuum, Grenth, Lyssa etc.
